Adam Futterman, Managing Director of Options Sales and Trading, brings 15 years of trading experience to WJB Capital Group. Since joining the firm in January 2007, Adam has spearheaded WJB’s entry into the options market, a new product area for the firm, where he oversees all aspects of its development, day-to-day trading activities, and idea generation.
Adam started his career at Prudential Securities in New York, and after 3 years left to join Troster, Singer where he traded and made markets in NASDAQ securities. By the time Troster changed its name to that of its parent company, becoming Spear, Leads and Kellogg Capital Markets, Adam was a senior trader, running a group focused primarily on technology companies, incorporating both customer-driven and proprietary trading strategies. He was also instrumental in devising and leading the assistant-trader training program, which at its peak had over 80 participants.
Adam joined the technology trading team at Goldman, Sachs shortly after Goldman’s acquisition of Spear, Leads in 2000. While at Goldman, Adam expanded his product knowledge to the options market, often devising and employing strategies not only for the firm’s customers, but also for its proprietary books. He left Goldman in 2005, having spent 9 years at the combined company, to pursue an opportunity to implement derivative strategies for a buy-side hedge fund.
Adam, a 1992 graduate of the University of Michigan, is an active recruiter for his alma mater, and can often be found at college fairs in the NYC area. He lives in Manhattan with his wife, Elissa, and their 2 children, Jacob and Stevie.
